Week 4 of The Sea-Teacher`s Program

Image
In the fourth week of my SEA Teacher program, there were not many tasks left for me to complete since I had already conducted my Final Demonstration Teaching . On Tuesday , I attended my fellow SEA Teacher Monic’s Final Demonstration to show my support. After that, I visited my students’ classrooms to bid farewell and express my gratitude for the wonderful experience I had at Feliciano Yusay Consing National High School .  say goodbye to all my students  check this out. Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances, there was no official closing program held either at the school or the university. Instead, I personally said goodbye to the faculty members and the Dean of the university, thanking them for their guidance and support throughout my teaching journey. Finally, on my departure day, I was accompanied to the airport , marking the end of my enriching experience in the SEA Teacher program.

Week 3 of The Sea-Teacher`s Program

Image
During the third week of my SEA Teacher program, my schedule remained quite busy as I continued with classroom observation and my role as a teaching assistant. Each day, I had the opportunity to observe how my mentor teacher handled different aspects of classroom management, delivered lessons, and engaged with students. These observations provided me with deeper insights into effective teaching strategies, which I tried to apply whenever I assisted in the classroom. At the same time, I was also preparing for my final demonstration teaching, which was scheduled for Thursday. This final demo was one of the most important parts of my SEA Teacher journey because it was the moment when I had to showcase everything I had learned throughout my time at the school. I spent a lot of time refining my lesson plan, preparing teaching materials, and practicing my delivery to ensure that I could give my best performance. Even though I felt nervous, I was also excited to finally put my skills to the t...

As my second week in the SEA Teacher program began, I started to feel more settled in my new environment. The excitement from the first week continued, but now it was time to focus more on my teaching journey. This week was filled with school activities, classroom observations, and my first experience handling a class. Opening Ceremony at the Cooperating School The week started with the official opening ceremony at our assigned cooperating school. The teachers and students warmly welcomed us, making us feel like part of their community. What made this event even more special was that it coincided with the school’s talent show. Seeing students perform with confidence and enthusiasm was truly inspiring. Their dedication to the arts, music, and dance reflected their vibrant school culture.  Classroom Observations and Teaching Preparation After the opening ceremony, I began my classroom observations. I was assigned to Ma’am Sarah’s class, where I observed her teaching techni...

Week 1 of The Sea-Teacher`s Program

Image
My first week in the SEA Teacher program was full of new experiences, challenges, and excitement. I was the first student to arrive before the other participants. At first, I felt a little nervous because I was in a new place where I did not know anyone. However, arriving early gave me a great opportunity to explore the campus and adjust to my new surroundings before the program officially started. I stayed at Capiz State University Pontevedra Campus. The campus was quiet, peaceful, and surrounded by nature. Since I had some free time, I walked around to see the buildings, classrooms, and other facilities. The environment felt very comfortable, and I started to feel excited about my journey in this program. Meeting the Faculty and University Staff One of the best parts of my first week was meeting the university faculty, staff and the students. I was introduced to the dean, several teachers, and other staff members at Pontevedra Campus. They were all very kind and welcoming, which m...

Teaching Practice

Procedures of Teaching  ( Final demonstration video During my teaching practice, I followed a structured lesson plan similar to Ma’am Sarah’s approach. I started with a warm greeting and a brief review of the previous lesson. Then, I introduced the new topic using PowerPoint slides, providing clear explanations and relevant real-life examples. To keep students engaged, I included short exercises. Lastly, I assessed their understanding through oral recitations and written quizzes. I also revised my Detailed Lesson Plan (DLP) based on my consultation with Ma’am Sarah. I did the mentoring section with Ma`am Christy Angnas, one of the teachers in Capiz State University Pontevedra Campus.    Time Management and Organizing Activities Managing time effectively was crucial in ensuring the lesson flowed smoothly. I allocated specific time slots for each segment: introduction (5 minutes), lesson explanation (15 minutes), student activities (20 minutes), discussion of answers...

Planning for Teaching The teacher I observed, Ma’am Sarah, follows a structured approach in planning her lessons. She utilizes the Daily Lesson Log (DLL) as a guide to ensure that her teaching aligns with the curriculum standards. Her lesson planning is well-organized, with clear objectives and engaging activities that cater to different learning styles. She carefully considers the needs of her students and incorporates various strategies to make learning more effective and meaningful.   Preparing Lessons and Materials Before class, Ma’am Sarah diligently prepares her materials to ensure a smooth learning experience for her students. She primarily uses PowerPoint presentations as her main teaching material. She ensures that her slides are well-structured, visually appealing, and contain relevant content to aid students' understanding. Her preparation reflects her commitment to making lessons clear and engaging.     Teaching in Class In the classroom, Ma’am Sarah...

It is designed to ensure students achieve competency in various subjects while fostering critical thinking, creativity, and communication skills. The curriculum is structured into core subjects, including English, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies, along with co-curricular and extracurricular activities to support holistic development. For the English subject, which aligns with my major, the curriculum emphasizes four language skills: listening, speaking, reading, and writing. It integrates communicative and task-based approaches to enhance students’ proficiency. The curriculum also includes assessments such as formative quizzes, summative exams, oral presentations, and project-based learning.   Teaching Plan Related to English Education The English teaching plan in the school follows a structured lesson plan format that includes the f...
