Teaching Plan

Curriculum

The curriculum implemented at the observed school follows the national education standards set by the Ministry of Education. It is designed to ensure students achieve competency in various subjects while fostering critical thinking, creativity, and communication skills. The curriculum is structured into core subjects, including English, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies, along with co-curricular and extracurricular activities to support holistic development.

For the English subject, which aligns with my major, the curriculum emphasizes four language skills: listening, speaking, reading, and writing. It integrates communicative and task-based approaches to enhance students’ proficiency. The curriculum also includes assessments such as formative quizzes, summative exams, oral presentations, and project-based learning.

Teaching Plan Related to English Education

The English teaching plan in the school follows a structured lesson plan format that includes the following components:

  1. Learning Objectives
    • Define clear goals based on the curriculum guidelines.
    • Ensure alignment with students’ language proficiency levels.
    • Focus on real-world communication skills.
  2. Teaching Methods and Strategies
    • Communicative Language Teaching (CLT): Encourages students to use English in meaningful contexts.
    • Task-Based Learning: Engages students in problem-solving activities.
    • Project-Based Learning: Allows students to work collaboratively on projects that require language use.
    • Technology Integration: Uses multimedia resources, interactive applications, and online platforms to enhance learning.
    • Word of the Day Approach: The teacher implements a "Word of the Day" strategy, where students are introduced to a new vocabulary word daily. This approach helps expand their vocabulary, enhances their understanding of word usage in different contexts, and encourages them to apply the new word in speaking and writing activities.
