School Profile
Feliciano
Yusay Consing National High School (FYCNHS) was originally established as
Cabugcabug Barangay High School in 1970. It began with only 260 students and
five teachers, operating within the classrooms of Cabugcabug Elementary School.
Over the years, the school expanded significantly, and in 2019, it was renamed
in honor of Feliciano Yusay Consing.
Today,
FYCNHS serves over 3,000 students across 78 sections, offering both Junior and
Senior High School education. The school stands as a beacon of hope, providing
quality and accessible education to students in President Roxas. It follows the
DepEd vision and mission, focusing on learner-centered education and fostering
holistic development through academic excellence and values formation. FYCNHS
is presently led by Principal IV Dr. Ronilo B. Tu, who ensures the school
remains committed to excellence in education.

Academic Support System
To
ensure a well-rounded learning experience, FYCNHS provides various support
systems that cater to students' academic and personal needs.
The
Guidance Office offers counseling and career guidance to help students make
informed academic and career choices. The Clinic provides health services to
address students' medical concerns and ensure their well-being within the
school environment.
Additionally,
the School Disaster Risk Reduction Program educates students on emergency
preparedness, equipping them with essential knowledge on how to respond to
disasters. The Teen Center serves as a safe space for student engagement and
personal development. Moreover, the School Supreme Learners’ Government
encourages student leadership and active participation in school activities.
Teaching System
FYCNHS
implements a face-to-face learning system, ensuring direct interaction between
teachers and students. The school integrates modern technology into classroom
instruction, allowing students to engage with lessons through digital platforms
and multimedia resources.

utilize computers for lesson presentations and hands-on learning activities.
The school promotes an interactive and student-centered teaching approach,
ensuring that students actively participate in discussions, group work, and
project-based learning activities.

The
school provides various educational resources to support student learning.
Textbooks and modules aligned with the national curriculum serve as the primary
learning materials.
Additionally,
online resources are available for research and supplementary learning. The
school also has a well-equipped computer laboratory, which allows students to
enhance their digital literacy and explore technology-based learning
opportunities.
Measurement and Evaluation System
FYCNHS
follows a comprehensive evaluation system to assess student performance.
Various forms of assessment are used to ensure that students develop both
theoretical knowledge and practical skills.
Formative
assessments include quizzes, seatwork, and group activities, which help track
student progress throughout the learning process. Summative assessments such as
unit tests, midterms, and final exams evaluate students’ mastery of subject
matter.
Performance-based tasks, including presentations, research projects, and hands-on activities, encourage students to apply their learning in real-world contexts. Moreover, students are given opportunities to participate in DepEd-designed competitions such as the Schools Press Conference (Journalism), Mathlympics, Technolympics, and the Festival of Talent.
Curriculum
FYCNHS
follows the K-12 curriculum, which is aligned with national education
standards. The curriculum includes core subjects such as Math, Science,
English, and Filipino, ensuring a well-rounded education for students.
In addition to the standard curriculum, the school offers specialized programs that cater to students' talents and interests. These include the Science, Technology & Engineering Program, the Special Program in Journalism, and the Special Program in the Arts, which covers dance, music, theater, and visual arts. Other specialized subjects include Computer System Servicing and Sports Development, providing students with a variety of learning pathways.
Teaching Plan (English Major Perspective)
As
an English major, the teaching plan at FYCNHS follows competency-based
instruction, emphasizing the four macro skills: listening, speaking, reading,
and writing. Lessons are designed to enhance students’ language proficiency
through a variety of instructional strategies.
The
teaching plan integrates contextualized learning materials that are relevant to
students’ real-life experiences, making learning more meaningful.
Technology-based instruction is also incorporated, utilizing multimedia
presentations and online resources to enrich classroom discussions.
To
promote student engagement, interactive activities such as debates,
role-playing, and peer discussions are included in lesson plans. Assessments
combine written tasks and oral presentations, allowing students to demonstrate
their understanding and communication skills effectively.
